Julia Clark writes at the intersection of culture, connection, and lived experience. Her debut novel, Falcons, unfolds across the United Arab Emirates, tracing parallel lives shaped by ambition, tradition, and the tension between autonomy and expectation.
The novel draws on her time living in Abu Dhabi, where she served as a U.S. diplomat — an experience that offered a rare, ground-level view into the forces shaping the region. Through this lens, her work renders the emotional and political complexity of a place often seen but rarely understood.
Julia received her B.A. in International Relations from American University in Washington, D.C., and is originally from Southern California. She is now based in Austin, Texas, where she lives with her three adopted street cats from the UAE — Peep, Poe, and Poli.
